Abraham Lincoln Student Council presents: Picturing a Healthy Community!
The Abraham Lincoln Student Council is currently working on a project to let people know about healthy and unhealthy choices in their community. After discussing Mrs. Obama’s plan to help children healthy and speaking to Pam Duffy, the Bristol Township Healthy Kids Program Manager, about the increased risk for obesity in children, we decided to focus our project on ways to help our peers and their families make healthy choices when they are going places in the community. As part of a United Healthcare Service Learning grant, the Abraham Lincoln Student Council bought digital camera to document places in our community that could contribute to the healthy and unhealthy choices of its members.
We took a field trip to several places in our community in order to pinpoint some areas that could affect the choices we make when it come to healthy behaviors. To learn about our observations and findings, watch our photo essay! Then check out our pages for for information, discussions, and more! We would love to hear your thoughts!
